Hallo!
Hat jemand Erfahrungen mit beiden Dingen?
Was unterscheidet sich für den Träger bei beiden Varianten?
Danke
joe

Had to wear an activator, including expansion screw and high-pull headgear for about two years - pretty much full-time for the first year at least.
Had to continue to use the headgear when I got fixed braces.

Maybe not particularly crazy, but really hated it at the time. The Herbst afterwards was a breeze compared to that  ::)

Great.
Looks like fun to wear.
Have you ever worn a retainer before?

Yes, I had three different retainer when I was a Kid in the early 80th:

First of all I had a normal "Active Plate" only for the upper jaw. With that device I had no problems.
Then I get an evil monoblock similar to "Stiff Activator" but no so big. I think this was to slide my lower jaw forward. I had a lot of problems with this device. I often lost it in the night.
My orthodontist switch to a "Bite Jumping Appliance (VDP)". But my retainer has two hard metal pins in the upper side which clicked into the retainer of the lower jaw. Not really clicked, but sort of. I was able to open my mouth, but when I want to close it, I had to push my lower jaw forward.
If I remember correctly, I wore an "Active Plate" only for the upper jaw again later.

I never had fixed braces.

@collin It feels great! Definitely bulky and takes some getting used to. I think the main difference between the twin block and activator is that you can open and close your jaw with the twin block

Hi,

I ordered my first retainer from the store: Wrap Around Retainer with Headgeartubes upper jaw with tongue crib.
The feeling of the tongue crib is incredible. Speaking is difficult. Everybody should try this  ;)

I need the Impression Kit and so the order take four weeks to complete, but all the wait was worth it. The contact to the shop is very nice and helpful.

I don't know how to include images yet ...

Any of the devices below:
  • Modified Twin-Block with pelottes and Telescope Appliance
  • Activator with Tongue Crib and Pelottes
  • Modified Activator with Pelottes

Or any other devices on that page

Good evening everyone, I would like to buy an orthodontic braces that has these characteristics:
1 ) the entire palate must be covered
2 ) it must produce a lot of saliva when it is worn
3 ) it must be difficult to move the tongue when it is worn
4 ) it must be difficult to speak when it is worn
5 ) it must be bulky and annoying when it is worn
6 ) must give the sensation of having the mouth imprisoned
7) must be much more uncomfortable and much more cumbersome.
8 ) must occupy the upper and lower part of the mouth
9 ) must make the lips stick out
10 ) must have tubes to attach the outer mustache with the headdress
11) adding other accessories to make the device torture when worn

What do you recommend to buy / modify or have made?

, also nichts für mich. Ich lade sie lieber platzen beim herzhaften Gähnen am nächsten Morgen. Bin gespannt wie es weitergeht

So today I put down $2k toward braces for myself. I can't believe I finally did it! I went with Inbrace, lingual braces. I'm an IT/telecom professional and really didn't want a mouthful of metal showing. I'd really like to hear stories or advice from anyone that's had lingual braces, or really any kind of braces. What should/shouldn't I do? I'm getting blue bite blocks and probably rubber bands eventually too, those make me kind of nervous. I have 4 weeks before I get them and I'm SO anxious.

Looking back now I miss the feeling of the expander and the small lisp it gave me.
Omg, same here actually. I wish I'd gotten my expander a couple of years later than I did so I could fully appreciate it!

I wore an expander for 7 months when I was 12... back then I didn't really enjoy it of course but now I'd love to get one lmao!

Depends on my age and treatment duration... rn I'm in my early 20s so I'd go for metal, but in my 30s I'd probably go for clear.

Blue, dark blue or black powerchain is the best. If it's simple ligatures, then I like color combinations like blue and orange, blue and yellow, blue and red, blue and green... the blue has to be there haha
