Wrong bite

Question: When I bite my teeth together, I bite the upper teeth with my lower incisors. And in such a way that further back the upper and lower rows of teeth have no contact with each other. Although my teeth otherwise stand in a row, it bothers me. Does anyone have the same problem? Or does anyone know if something like this can be fixed with transparent rails? Or do you have to open a bigger construction site? Thank you very much for your tips.
 
You might just even need some elastics and hooks. Depending on the bite though you could need somethings else like a functional appliance (Forsus, Herbst, etc.). Talk to an orthodontist though, they will know best.
 
This is my problem too. I’m transitioning orthodontists because of it. My current ortho wants to push my bite back but it causes my TMJ to flare. I consulted with a TMJ specialist who identified my 2nd forward bite. She reached out to my current ortho who wasn’t keen on moving my bite forward. This week, I have my last appointment with my current ortho and my first actual appointment with my new ortho. My new ortho will be banding the 6 teeth that don’t have braces and is working with the take specialist to determine if I will need a repositioning appliance before beginning any further movement. I ended up adding a year and a half to my treatment time.

yup I have that same bite. It's a skeletal class 3 where the upper jaw didn't grow forward enough but my front teeth line up kinda edge to edge and none of my back teeth touch when I bite down except my wisdom tooth on one side.

For me, I tried to have this bite camouflaged with Invisalign a year ago with elastics that were pushing my lower jaw back (and IPR lower row), but it caused me severe TMJ pain and my jaw to lock shut for five months. So now I'm in braces to  align my teeth right (make the underbite worse basically) in prep for jaw surgery next year to move the upper or both jaws forward slightly.

I'd just say, be very careful if they want to use elastics to camouflage a bite like this...the tension pushing the lower jaw back in the joint and over time (talking 6+ months) can significantly worsen TMJ issues especially if you had some prior like me. My jaw joints are still fucked and I have daily pain, not sure it will ever be normal again. So just..be careful please, OP. Ask a ton of questions about what they plan to do.
