Twin Block Appliance

I just got fitted with a twin block style appliance for sleep apnea!
This particular appliance has occlusal coverage with acrylic...but lower mandible advancement comes from an expander screw embedded in the lower “block” that helps to push my jaw forward to open the airway instead of used to widen the arch. I am very excited & will post more as it develops

Ooh very nice! Was that through a Dr. Or an Orthodontist?
Yes share some pics. And what color did you get?

I was not able to continue as my dental insurance came up short...the appliance was over 2000.00
I was molded and on my way with it
I’m very disappointed

Great Day!
I just took the molds and paid for an upper and lower occlusal guard with HERBST connecting the 2
This is for lower mandible advancement. It’s a dream appliance I’ve been waiting for.
It’s 1800 in total for the appliance. Should have it in 2 weeks
I will post pictures!!!!

Hi! Why so expensive? Is it not from the shop?

I’ve had sleep apnea for years and never done anything about it because I’m terrified of masks. I have an overbite and midline issue. I also have an extremely hard upper night guard/a very tight and hardguard because I grind and have a bit of TMJ. It looks like yours.

What you were describing with the double occlusal guards and a herbst to expand your lower draw forward. Sounds like something that I would like to talk to my Dentist about. Have they lined up your midline and other teeth with this device I have seen them made, but I have never heard of anyone who has one.

I have also seen the totally correct guard that extend your mandible for sleep apnea, such as a twin block would push your band forward and I have seen prices up thousands of dollars

How is yours working?
