Maybe getting braces

I have been told that despite my major heart failure problems I now can have braces so I'm booked in to see an orthodontist the week after next I'm excited and nervous at the same time if I can finally get real braces it will be such a thrill I just wanted to put this on here wish me luck x
 
Good look also from my side. May your braces dreams come true, as they did for me, when I got my braces installed 15 months ago, at the age of 54 ????
 
As someone who has had braces multiple times and am currently back in treatment, make sure you find an orthodontist who is hands on and actually takes the time to get to know you as more than just brackets and wires. Lot of orthodontists, at least here in the US, seem to be more about maximizing patients in chairs per day and making as much money as possible. My current orthodontist is the complete opposite and I much prefer the more personalized level of care compared to what feels akin to being moved like cattle through the system.

That bit of practical advice out of the way, good luck in finding and orthodontist and experiencing the thrill!
 
Im meeting my ortho for the first time in 2 Tuesdays time so I hope I can get to chat with her and get a bit of a patient-ortho relationship going I hope it will be the start of a long treatment plan
 
I had my ortho apointment today and unfortunatley she wouldn't give me braces I was a bit sad but a friend of mine suggested I get some fake braces so that's what I've done, I've ordered some fake braces  they should be here in a few weeks obviously not as good as the real deal but I just think of the money ived saved and if I keep quiet about it and go out wearing my fakes everyone will think its the real deall I hope!
 
I would also suggest to consult at least two more orthos.
Before I did my decision I had four consultations, with slightly different treatment plans.
Finally I chose the most sympathic one, who was surprised but happy with my decision for metal brackets.

I've just ordered some better very realistic fake braces and headgear from the Dutch company Braces for fun  I've only done it today so I've got to wait for my impressions  kit to arrive first  I've also ordered some headgear as well  mite as well ho the whole hog
 
Hi everyone my second impressions kit is on its way should be here by mid week the reason it's the second kit is I made a bit of a mess the first time round. Anyhow hopefully it will go better this time and il be a step closer to having realistic looking fake braces and headgear
 
That could be a good option if you’re dealing with crowding or bite issues. It’s always better to get a proper check first, so you know what will actually work best for your teeth.
 
A bit of an update after severall attempts I finally got the impressions done to the satisfaction of the people making my fake braces I have to give credit to my best friend Kate who helped me a lot with the impressions. I don't know why but I found it difficult to do on my own anyhow my braces are now being made I'm excited to fet them at last
