To take it one step further - you are a paying customer, he is kind of service provider for you, and scolding a paying customer is quite inappropriate in most situations ;-)

Hi LukasHG,

I've had a hawley retainer with high-pull headgear from the Braces Shop for about a year and it's been great. I just ordered a modified twin block and am looking forward to something different.

Guten Abend,

Habt ihr irgendwelche Empfehlung, was man bestellen könnte?

Also entweder TwinBlock oder Vorschubplatte.

Yeah, he's a very nice guy. He's a mild, soft-spoken Mormon man. In retrospect, I really don't know why I thought he'd scold her for postponing appointments. It would be out of character for him. And it's not like her postponing appointments creates extra work for him, so I'm sure he doesn't care if she's in braces longer than expected.

nice that you can extend the treatment time this way, but you must have nice ortho.  My kids (and then us as parents) got the lecture every time they missed an appointment, though they seemed to roll easier with my wife when she missed an appointment.

So Carrie FINALLY went to the ortho after postponing two adjustments. Surprisingly, her ortho didn't even scold her! Changes at this adjustment:

- Repositioned the bracket on her left upper front incisor
- Removed her wire ties (were on upper canines)
- Tweaked her lower archwire to try to "widen" her arch a bit
- Went with purple ligs (she was tired of the silver she's had for ages)

Elastics are the same at 3/16" and 6.5 ounces.

She took off for Virginia the day after the adjustment, but she hasn't mentioned any soreness in texts or videos she's sent me.

Next appointment is scheduled for September 1st. We'll see if she postpones that one, too!  ;D

i have this at home
i can not explain more, my english is bad, sorry

If you have a dental lab near you, see if they can make the adjustments for you. Most of the time the lab does much of the work before the dentist receives the appliance. They may be able to help you.

adjustment with new molds should not be a problem, i've done that myself a few times (broken wire etc). Very good work and not expensive..

I had to get a crown on one of my molars a couple of weeks ago, and since then, none of my appliances have been fitting quite right. I have a Hawley upper that I wear from my braces days, and a twin block that I bought from the shop. Does anyone have experience with this? Is it something I can fix, or can I send it to the shop technician with a new mold for adjustments?

Thanks.

Es heißt also weiter geduldig bleiben.

good advice braceface2015 and carking.  They had told my wife the same thing on the chapstick to help minimize effects of the separators.  i had no issues with the impressions.  a bit uncomfortable but didn't gag.  They did both impressions and a digital scan.

The hardest part for me was going through all the steps just to get ready to get the braces put on. Most of it was painless. At the start, my first orthodontist was concerned that I might have a tongue thrust problem, so I had an appliance that I was supposed to wear at night. It was too annoying and I don't think that I ever really wore it. She did have me wait about 6 months just to see if my teeth were stable.

After I moved, I had all my records sent to another orthodontist who took over my (pre)treatment. He took a look at everything, did his own examination, and not long after that had me in braces, metal top and bottom. I had several sets of impressions done. If you just relax and don't allow yourself to get stressed about the impressions, it goes a lot easier. Breathe through your nose instead of your mouth, that way you don't feel like you are gagging and can't breathe. Ask if they have flavored impression material, it does make it more pleasant.

I could hardly wait for the day that I finally got my braces on. They did both top and bottom at the same time and gave me a very flexible wire. I didn't have very much discomfort at all, even when the teeth started to move.

Go into it with a positive attitude and try to enjoy everything that happens. After all, it is "expensive jewelry", just show it off for as long as you have it.
