Oooh great question! First of all, your wears fake braces! That’s awesome, I’m pretty jealous! I’d say it has to be the twinblocks with herbst. Little bumps either side of the lower lips from the herbst hinges and the struggle to properly close her mouth because of the blocks separating her jaws… It’d be the perfect blend of humiliating and frustrating for her! Add a facebow or two with plenty of straps round her head for the maximum effect?… ;D Keep us posted with what you choose and whether she enjoys them!

Wife currently has two sets of fake braces (clear, metal) and a set of Hawley's. I want to get her a Functional Appliance and am torn on which one Van-Beek, TwinBlock with Herbst, Bionator, or something else.....

So I ask everyone which would you order?

I personally think that both types have their advantages. with removable braces, the speech impairment is usually greater.

In case of enamel damage, for example, more teeth than the first molars can still be banded today. Another indication are severe rotations.
These problems can also be communicated to friends.
The problem for orthodontists is that bands are now rarely offered for premolars or canines, let alone anterior teeth. It is therefore only a matter of time before a real multi-band appliance will only be known from photos...
