Expectations for cost

I had an orthodontic consultation today, I was told I had upper and lower moderate crowding, with a 40 degree rotation of 1 upper lateral incisor. I am also missing my lower 1st molars and the plan included moving my 2nd molars forward. I knew Invisalign wasnt an option (which I'm more than OK with) but I was told treatment time with fixed braces was 3 years (again, I'm ok with this) but at a cost of £16k. Im definitely seeking a 2nd opinion but is that what I should expect?

I would have expected about quarter of that quote

So did I, I suspect she thought treating me wasnt worth her time since I would still have any other treatment at my NHS dentist so just threw a random number out knowing I would say no

That price is MASSIVELY over the top. I don't imagine that she is worried about where you go for your general dentistry though. But you definitely need a couple more quotes.

Had an initial consultation today to chat and let them look at my teeth. A definite improvement on the other practice for overall feel and patient care, and a quote of £3200. Full consultation booked
