Title: Power chain not hooked on all brackets

I think the asst put the lower power chains on wrong. I have one on each side of the lower starting at the soldered hook before #3.  The power chains are not on any brackets only 2 hooks - it’s running beneath the brackets - attached on the archwire hook and the last molar hook.

This doesn’t seem right because I can basically do the same thing with an elastic running under the brackets. Plus even with waterpik and brushing, I’m having issues with food sitting behind the power chain that I can’t see.

I really think he meant to run it under the wire (not running under the brackets) and I can’t seem to find anything online that shows power chains attached this way.

She seemed to be a new assistant because she had trouble getting my wires off and on and needed help for both. This is the 3rd time I am wearing braces and I REALLY don’t want anything slowing it down.

Anyone heard of this/had power chains running from just 2 hooks?

Best to call your Ortho. We don't know what your treatment plan is.
