Don't you think most modern orthodontists will be pretty patient-centered and consider all the options to please the customer? Not that it's necessarily the best model for medicine, but one would think it's pretty consumer-driven.

And how do people react seeing you in braces again? by the way: at what age did you get your first braces/headgear set? and how does it feel for you beeing "braced again"?

Hi, I'm in braces for the second time too. Not wearing my retainer and my wisdomw teeth coming thru has meant 3 years after getting my braces off i'm back in them for a second time as an adult. 3-4years in full braces, 4 elastic bands will be fitted soon which i'm told i will have to wear for the rest of my treatment. I wasnt too happy when i was told but now after a month back in them its not so bad.

braces, headgear for a time, but rubberbands for most of it
a few other small appliances that i don't remember the name of bc they weren't anywhere as invasive as the headgear

and yeah
the braces came off a few hours ago and i get the retainers tomorrow
just the typical plastic ones

i'm supposed to wear the top one all the time for a year and then only at night from then on
the bottom one as much as possible but if i want to only wear it at night then she said that's okay as well bc not much was done to my bottom teeth over the years

nearly a month later and the feeling of straight teeth is honestly just as great as the day the braces first came off
