So I'm trying to find the name of my appliance I had back when I was a teenager. For reference I was a class III with a narrow upper palate and crowding. I started off with a fixed hyrax with a tongue crib and hooks to attach to my facemask.
After some time the orthodontist removed my hyrax and replaced it with a removable expander. But it has these two plastic pads that acted like lip bumpers. It had some weird name but I can't remember it. Haven't seen one in a long time.
If anyone can help me out, I'd appreciate it. And let me know if I didn't describe it well

Did the pads line up with your teeth (ie just like a lip bumper does) or was it higher, on the gum?

They were higher. They were oval, about half covering my teeth and the other half covering the gums. I had very pronounced canine teeth also. If that helps
