Hi,

I purchased top and bottom expanders from Bracesshop.net:
https://dereferer.me/?https://www.bracesshop.de/Fake-Braces/Plate-Upper-jaw::51.html?MODsid=309a7f0bd60900382bf003d56f825794
https://dereferer.me/?https://www.bracesshop.de/Fake-Braces/Plate-Lower-jaw::5.html?MODsid=309a7f0bd60900382bf003d56f825794

Does anyone know the maximum millimeters of expansion I get out of the expansion screws on both appliances? I've contacted their site twice both they haven't responded.

Thanks for everyone's help

According to Rocky Mountain Orthodontic web site, expansion can be from 8 mm to 13 mm various numbers of turns from 35 turns to 60 turns. Hope this helps

Each turn is a quarter milimetre. I think the maximum will be 8mm.

If you are looking to alter your bite, I would suggest going to an orthodontist. You can spend a small amount of money buying fakes, only to have your bite changed a small amount. If your bite changes, it can do more harm to your teeth than you want. If you go to an orthodontist, that person can do the same thing correctly and it won't cost you that much more in the end.

 I had fakes for several years, because my bite wasn't bad enough to need braces. Several years ago I had some dental work done and my bite shifted after the work was done. I talked to an orthodontist about what could be done, and it was decided that I could get braces.

I do not regret getting the fake braces, but I really enjoy having the real braces more. For me having the real braces are far more pleasant than the fake braces ever were. I talked with my orthodontist about extending my time in braces for a little longer, and he has agreed to do that. I have a medical reason for asking him to do that not related to my dental issues.

I am simply looking to expand my palate (and lower law). My intermolar width is 42mm and I would like to increase it to to low-to-mid 50's if possible

I would not recommend DIY orthodontics. You could do some irreparable damage to your teeth. Consult an orthodontist if you feel your teeth need to be moved.  Fake braces  are just for amusement, not for actual orthodontic treatment.

DIY orthodontics is definitely not recommended! This site certainly does not support any self-treatment and the fake braces made by the shop are not indended for treatment use either. Please see a qualified dental practitioner if you want treatment for your teeth.
