Braces-shop isn't a scam is it???
« on: 18. December 2013, 21:19:09 PM »
I've been wanting to order some stuff off of the braces shop site but don't want to get ripped off or have credit card info stolen. Someone please write back about the braces shop :)

Very serious! You can trust them.
I've ordered there. Professional and quick handling.
Top shop!

Approx 2-4weeks, it depends on where you're from and how fast shipping is done..

I ordered an impression kit to have them make an upper hawley for me, then ordered it with a facebow and high-pull strap. This was a few years ago and everything came through.

I got worried when I didn't get things right away (shipping was to Canada) and the English-German language barrier didn't help, but they are definitely legit and the retainer is well-made :)

Definitely not a scam - takes some time, especially if you're not in Europe, but my fake braces arrived and are beautifully crafted.

Just curiouser on what you had bought from them? Is it hard to do the molds? And does everything fit right?

Instructions are provided on how to take the impressions of your teeth and I think there is a video link provided as well.  They are not hard to do, just make sure to slide the trays straight so you get a good mold.  There was enough material provided for a redo because I know I goofed up once.

Everything fit well that I have purchased including top and bottom hawleys, top and bottom stretching plates, and a modified activator.  I didn't buy these all at once mind you, they held onto my impressions and I add to my collection from time to time.

Thanks for the information. I'm really excited for my purchases. Where are you from? Just curious on how long it takes to arrive and do you wear your retainers all the time?

I live in Oklahoma.  From the time of order it takes about a week for the retainers to ship which is in line with the timelines advertised on the website.  It takes about a week for the retainers to arrive from Germany after I get the shipping notice.  I wear them every night not for medical reasons of course but they do a fine job of keeping my teeth in place from previous orthodontic treatment  ;).  I also wear them most of the time during weekends.  The quality of the retainers are top notch, they are the real thing.

Has anyone ever had their dental impression get broken or chipped when mailing it in to have a custom retainer made for them?   I was thinking about asking for a new impression next time I go to my dentist.   I would bring him my very old ones.   Tell him that I really want to have updated dental impressions.
