Made in 1998, this has been shown a few times recently on UK Satellite TV.

Set in Glasgow, a young girl escapes death after a car accident, and subsequently suffers "hauntings". Set in the squalour of a high-rise almost-slum, it shows the way people can be stuck in poverty etc.

As far as braces go, the teenage girl (played by Heather Ann Foster) is one of the main characters, and wears obvious upper & lower braces (they look like they are probably REAL braces) and you get PLENTY of chances to see her braces throughout the film, including several good close-ups.
