I'm just curious about who keeps their love of braces private, and who shares it.

I've shared it with my partner somewhat recently, and afterwards, I got a twin block from the shop. I wear it around the house sometimes when my partner is around, and I've kissed her while wearing it, but I haven't taken it out in public yet. I would love to give her the control to decide when I need to wear it, and to wear it in public at those times.

Is there anything you do with your partner (going out in public, etc) as well?

My wife is fully aware of my abnormally high interest in orthodontics. In fact, it's the whole reason she got braces. Since her braces are fixed metal, they're obviously present in everything we do: travel, sporting events, concerts, the symphony, dining in and out, pubs, wine tastings, festivals, sex, etc.

One other person, my wife's best friend, is aware of the true reason she got braces. Other than that, we keep it very private in real life.

My wife knows that I love her braces and utilises them in our intimate times together she's also been wearing them for 4 years now)  however I don't think she realises just how much they turn me on and doesn't she doesn't know about how much everything orthodontic interests me and my knowledge of it. I have a major thing for back braces (milwaukee, lyon)  which I keep private, mainly because I can't see a feasible outlet for this fetish with my wife

She has no idea, and as close as we are and as long as we've been together, I'm definitely embarrassed to tell her.  Which I guess is too bad, because I'd love to talk to her about it.  I know some people have talked about their experiences discussing it with significant others, and I'm sure they generally went well.  But still not really secure enough to bring it up

zaku1000 I agree with you. My last GF, which was a 4.5 yr relationship, was supportive of my REAL braces for my jaw surgery at our 2 year point and then caught me wearing headgear one day randomly and I was so scared and embarassed. She told me not to feel embarrassed about my orthodontic treatment so I went along with that excuse up until 4-5mo later when she saw bracesforum and history on my phone when I pulled my phone away when she was searching for something on YouTube. She thought I was cheating on her so I hung my head low and gave her the phone and there was no record of any girl but her. She asked why I was defensive when she wanted to use my phone so I told her about my history on YouTube and Bracesforum. Then she thought porn of course so then I showed her and told her the truth and it went extremely WELL for me! She thought either cheating or porn addiction and when she realized it was just an unharmful fetish she just smiled and told me I was a Goober

That's good. It's crazy how much we build up something so minute into something so overly significant. I also believe that its important for the person, of whom you are admitting your "love of braces" to, has that rare significant characteristic of having the ability to put themselves into another person's shoes. I know that I have come across off search headlines and web seekouts on friends phone webs or their sources of internet/YouTube and just kept it to myself without judgment or confronted them with the right level of voice tone to let them know that I am in complete understanding so they feel NO embarrassment or shame. Society anymore is just too judgmental at least in the USA it is. Does anyone agree??

I do agree, and I'm sure my significant other probably has things too that she may not have or wanted to share with me for fear of similar embarrassment (even though I of course would be anything but judgmental).  I'm sure most if not many people think similarly.  But as a larger society, we Americans are prude and private and judgmental, and it's difficult to be public and open about a lot of things without someone -- and there is always someone -- judging and condemning and making others feel bad (likely only because they're too afraid to deal with their own insecurities, but that's a different issue).
