sorry I don't want to recount the incident that caused my broken jaw, but I'm more than happy to talk about having it wired shut

Well I had a metal plate put into my jaw so I was asleep when it was wired shut. I woke up unable to open my mouth which was kinda scary at first, but once that passed it was pretty nice. I couldn't open my mouth, which made me unable to talk in anything more than a mumble. feeling hungry all the time was the only part that sucked, though. Still, I got to be quiet and nonverbal and it cut down the amount of talking to me that people do and that was probably the best part. Once my jaw was freed I had a hard time opening it for about a week but the tendons loosened up and my mouth opened all the way while I was eating pizza. All in all though, I'd love to do it again

I understand. Its no problem at all.
I completely understand what you mean by everything that come with having your jaw wired shut. Its a bit of a trip especially when you wake up from the surgery, as you were explaining, and attempting to open your mouth and unable to whatsoever. Being hungry is the worst part especially when someone us munching down on some bomb ass food or the food network channel is playing! Lol

Half my life ago I had my jaw wired shut after orthognathic surgery.  It certainly was a trip - not 100% I'd do it again for the full six weeks though, but I'll do a weekend any time.

fortunately, my father really loves to cook, and he experimented with different soups - I never went hungry, and to this day I have a "fetish for soup"!
