The problem is, the government aren't just talking about it, they're going to do it starting January 1st, 2008. For us, this may result in our "affinity" with this community and related content being known to all levels of German gvt: from the police force and the tax agency down to your employer, if you happen to work for the government (or your employer happens to know someone who knows someone whose second cousin's wife's best friend's father's nephew has access to the database).
