I'm still busy writing my story, so expect more in the future. Right now I'm writing a big side story about Angie. I'm not able to post it on the forum due to the rules. Are you are really about his side story? Start commenting on post or write a story to gain access to the drive. Braceface2015 is also helping me with making my story easier to read. I'm very thankful  for his help.

If anyone reads my story in the archive I'd love to hear your opinion. I doubt it's smart to put your opinion directly on the forum. So please send me a private message.

If anyone wants to read the edited version of the story, it is in TheArchive. I am very happy to be able to help out by editing the story and very thankful that I am being given the opportunity. It would be a shame if this story was lost as so many have been.

Chapter 13: Carol's routine check-up

Still staring into the other room, Carol was curious what the guy in the other room was wearing? It definitely did not look like the usual headgear often seen. While she was staring in the other room, the assistant that let her in entered the room and closed the door behind her. On the door was a sign with the red letters, ‘life without stress’. What an odd name to be on a door at the orthodontist. While she was still waiting in the chair, the orthodontist came in.

The Orthodontist said, “Good morning, do you mind if I call you Carol?”

Carol replied, “Sure, I don’t mind.”

The Orthodontist added, “As I said on the phone, I’d like to check if everything went right yesterday. Do you mind if I use the lip spreader?”

Without answering, Carol just opened her mouth and it was clear for the orthodontist. He asked it while already holding it, so probably Carol already expected it. The orthodontist put the lip spreader in and picked up a few tools. He started to poke in her mouth and occasionally mumbled a bit. The bright light was half pointing in her eyes instead of her mouth, and she decided to close her eyes for a moment.

Suddenly she felt some suction in her mouth and opened her eyes again. The assistant from yesterday used the suction tool in her mouth while the orthodontist kept poking in her mouth. She looked into the assistant eyes and saw her bright blue eyes which she didn't notice earlier. The orthodontist grabbed a different tool from a tray and re-entered her mouth. She felt relieving pressure on her bottom teeth. The tool left of her mouth, and she saw a lot of tiny rubber bands hanging from it.

The Orthodontist said, “It looks like one of your brackets on your bottom became loose, we have to put a new one on.”

Next, the orthodontist was holding a small wire and a bracket in his hand. He started to investigate the wire and mumbled a little. He grabbed a small grinder and went into her mouth again. The sound of the grinder was awful, but luckily it did not take long.

The Assistant said, “Sometimes you would wish you could not hear what the orthodontist is doing.”

The orthodontist put a new bracket on and the assistant shone the familiar blue light into her mouth. With her mouth still wide, the orthodontist put the old wire back in her mouth and secured it to her brackets. Not yet done, he again picked a different tool from the tray and Carol felt some pressure in her already aching upper jaw. "Click". Carol's eyes widened, she knew exactly what just happened.

The Orthodontist said, “Don’t worry, that sound is just your upper expander. Every fourth turn, it locks in place and it can’t be turned back. I noticed I didn’t turn your expander yesterday, it was still in the first hole of a cycle.”

The orthodontist removed the lip spreader and Carol began to lick her bottom braces. This was the first time she licked her braces with her tongue. The brackets on her teeth felt really rough. Although she didn’t like the look of her braces, she knew it was for the better. While feeling her brackets, she did not notice the orthodontist walking to a cabinet in the room. The orthodontist walked back and told her to open and close her mouth a few times. After a few times, the orthodontist asked her to close her mouth again. His fingers went into her mouth again and she felt some pressure between her upper and lower jaw. The assistant handed her a hand mirror, and she looked into her mouth. Two thick rubber bands were connected between her jaws. She opened and closed her mouth a few times and it felt really heavy.

The Orthodontist said, “Okay, we’re done. I’m happy you were able to come in today. You were not supposed to get rubber bands so early, but this way we can progress your alignment a lot faster. Yesterday I told you to turn your expander once a day, instead of today you can start tomorrow. Your next appointment can just stay as scheduled.”

The Assistant asked, “Dad, is it okay if I leave, I still have a busy day ahead of me.”

The Orthodontist replied, “Sure, May, but next time be sure to install those brackets properly.”

May walked out of the room and turned to an employee’s area, while Carol stared at her moving out of the room. Just like yesterday, May was wearing a white nurse's uniform. Carol shook hands with the orthodontist and walked out of the office. Entering her car, she felt her extremely aching upper jaw. She surely was not supposed to be done with her first two turning cycles.

I have added this chapter to TheArchive. I found that this should be chapter 13 when I was adding it to both versions of this story. I had to go back and check to make sure that I had numbered them right and found that I had numbered them wrong in my copies.

I am enjoying this story and am looking forward to more of it.

I am happy to be able to work with the author by proofreading the chapters that have been sent to me.

Chapter 14: Carol's hungry

While driving home, she opened and closed her mouth a few times. The pulling of the elastics was very noticeable. She felt the inside of her mouth with her tongue and first touched her expander. Only, the touch of her tongue made her cringe, there was a lot of pressure on her upper jaw. She pushed her tongue against her elastics and immediately regretted that decision. While before only her upper jaw was in pain, now she also felt her bottom jaw ache. She couldn't hold it for a moment and tears began to flow on her cheeks. Why had she been so stupid to turn her expander too many times?

Parking her car in the garage, she was happy nobody was around. Her eyeliner was now all over her face instead of just below her eyes. When she walked into her apartment, she heard her stomach growl. She really had to eat a proper meal after all those days. But how was she supposed to eat something with the constant aching in her mouth? She opened her fridge in search of something suitable to eat. Her fridge was almost empty, only a little bit of yogurt was left. Opening her cabinets, she could only find a package of granola. Again she heard a growl in her stomach. She really had to eat something.

She grabbed a bowl and filled it with yogurt since it was the only thing she could eat. With her mouth still in constant pain, she began to slurp her yogurt. The yogurt helped a bit against the growling of her stomach, but she was still hungry. She really had to get groceries, but she knew quite well she could not do groceries with eyeliner all over her face. She walked into her bathroom to clean her face. While facing the mirror, she first opened her mouth with some effort. The first thing she saw was her heavy rubber bands. They were red which matched with her hair. Facing the mirror she reminded herself her vacation was almost over. Tomorrow she had to work again. She never really bothered much about her looks at her workplace, but now felt a bit ashamed. What would all of her co-workers think about her braces? She gave a big smile in the mirror and saw all of her metal-covered teeth. She licked with her tongue over her bottom brackets and tasted the fresh taste of the rubber bands entwined with the taste of metal.

Carol began to clean her face with a washing clothe until all the stripes of the eyeliner were gone. She didn’t bother to apply new make-up. Her hungriness made her go do groceries as fast as possible. Closing the door of her apartment, she decided to see if Bill was around. She knocked on his door, but again it stayed silent. Odd, Carol though, usually he is not working on Wednesday. Carol drove to the supermarket and arriving at the parking lot, she saw her friend Amy walking in her direction.

Amy said, wildly smiling, “Show me those marvellous teeth of yours.''

Carol began to blush and didn't show her teeth to Amy yet. She looked jealously at Amy’s straight sparkly white teeth. Carefully, Carol started to show her teeth. While she opened her mouth, Amy kept silent, but her eyes betrayed her. She could see the shocked look in her eyes.

Amy said, “They really aren’t that noticeable, I see you already got your rubber bands?’’

Carol said, “Yes, and also a horrible expander, my teeth are in constant pain.’’

Amy said, “I’m sorry but I have to go, I’ve got a busy day ahead of me.’’

Amy walked away and Carol imagined herself with perfect sparkly white teeth. She rushed into the supermarket and quickly grabbed everything she needed. She really did not want to see any familiar faces. One shocked face for a day was enough. Done shopping, she drove home again. Entering the garage she noticed Bill's car was still in his familiar spot. Where could Bill be? Was he still at home? Why did he not open his door? Walking to her front door, she saw a large container with a small note.

Written on the note was, “A large protein shake for a perfect orthodontic patient.’’

This had to come from Bill she thought, he always drank shakes. Occasionally even after they spent the night together. She went into her apartment. Once all the groceries were stored, she lay down on her couch and drank the large protein shake.

This is such an interesting story. I can't to see what's going to happen next, plus, like Carol, curious about Bill.

Sadly I've decided that Bill's story will end on the forum. The way my story goes is not according the rules. Probably there will still be a chapter about Carol. Contact me if you still want to follow the story.

Chapter 15: What is happening with Bill?

Bill had been laying in the chair for a long time, at first he really wanted to get out of the office, but something changed inside of him. It felt like they took very good care of bill. Fine, it was odd, but somehow it was also very soothing. With is body still secured to the chair it was hard to look at his surroundings. It was almost impossible to tilt his head in any direction. The crushing sensation in his tongue was starting to wear off. It felt like his tongue had become a dead piece of meat. The only pressure he really felt was the constant tension of the headgear.

(Just after the headgear was again inserted in his mouth Angie had walked out of the office. Why did she leave the door open? What if anyone would see him like this? It was very strange being alone for such a long time. (adult part)  He heard the door close and panicked for a moment. Did they forget about him?

While he still laid in the chair for several minutes his mind calmed down. (adult part). This moment Angie came back in the room. See stood in front of Bill were he could barely see her. He was sure she was smiling the creepy way like before. He was not wrong. With his face still facing the ceiling he saw her face coming closer while see directly looked into his eyes.  Her brown eyes penetrated his soul, usually he liked blue eyes, but the look in her eyes made him melt. She teasingly opened and closed her mouth a few times and Bill could see the pistons of her herbst appliance move. Bill still laid there with his pistons locked therefore he could not open his mouth. A strain of drool escaped Angies mouth and Fell on Bills left cheek. Angie began to blush and stepped out of Bills vision.

I definitely would like to see this story continued. I know how hard it is to write stories that stay within the rules and many of my stories end up being posted to other story sites. Do your best to continue this story, or at least find a way to end it that doesn't leave us hanging.

I agree the rules can make things unique. I'd love to see how it really ends, if you go elsewhere or send it to the archive, i'd love to see the full story.
