Story: Bill and Carol
« on: 11. November 2020, 19:53:39 PM »
Bill and Carol are a young couple and they live in a large apartment building. They have known each other for around one year now. Before Bill moved in, Carol was already living in the building. The day Bill moved into the building, the two met in the hallway. Since that day they've been doing a lot of things together. Occasionally they sleep with each other, but they wouldn't call themselves a couple. Bill had always been around women, but he never really been in love. He always kept a fair amount of distance.

One night Carol was sleeping with Bill and they had a great time. But afterwards, Carol didn't say a word to Bill. Bill was really wondering what was wrong with Carol.

Usually Carol kept talking, but not this time. Carol took a deep breath and told Bill she had something to say. Carol said, "I'm going to an orthodontist tomorrow."

Bill didn't know what to say, it was not something he ever expected from Carol. She had always been afraid of the dentist, so a visit to an orthodontist didn't sound like something she would do. Carol told Bill why she made an appointment with an orthodontist. "My jaws are hurting because of my narrow jaws. They don't fit properly, and I really must do something about it. I would really appreciate it if you would go with me."

Bill couldn't resist, he knew how scared Carol would be.

The next day they went to the orthodontist together. There was a lot to see in the waiting room. In the middle was a large cabinet with all kinds of appliances. Carol could see an expander, it really made her a little dizzy seeing something like that. It really looked painful and uncomfortable. It felt like ages before she heard her name, but it really wasn't much more than 5 minutes.

She sat down in the chair and the orthodontist told her to open her mouth. Immediately her eyes made some tears in the corner. He was inspecting her mouth and took some photos. After that, he was talking to a different orthodontist in a different room. Carol was looking through a window and could see them talking. It looked like they had a lot to talk about. After a few minutes, the orthodontist came back in and told Carol it would take approximately 3 years to really fix her bite. It shocked her, but it was not weird hearing that. She wasn't sure if she really wanted to wear braces for 3 whole years. She didn't even know what kind of braces she had to wear.

Although she nearly forgot, Bill was still in the room. Bill came up to her and tried to calm her. Bill said, "I think you should really do it."

Carol looked calmer now, it even looked like she was happy about what Bill said and a grin formed on her face. Carol replied, "I'll start my treatment if you start yours."

Carol had a fear of the dentist for a very long time. It's not that she's afraid of pain, but the smell always made her nauseous. In her youth she even had vomited when they were working with fluoride, she simply couldn't take the taste of it. It all even went worse the day she had a cavity; they were using a needle to numb her jaw. Afterwards, she had been sick for the whole day.

The words that Carol just spoke startled Bill, he had never really thought about getting braces in the last 10 years ago. His teeth are not straight, but it had not really bothered him that much. The orthodontist also looked questioningly at Bill; this had never happened before in his entire career.

The orthodontist said,  "If you go sit in the chair, I will examine your teeth for free." Bill couldn't resist this offer, so he sat down in the chair. It didn't really take long this time. If he would start treatment, he would only need braces for one year. They both agreed to start their braces treatment.

   Chapter 2 braces preparations

The preparation of Carols treatment

Carol knew the worst part still had to come, they still needed impressions of her teeth. She thought about the time she had vomited at the dentist. It had been one of the worst days of her life. Her whole dentist's office knew about the accident. One day she sat in the waiting room and even heard someone say, 'vomit girl'. She was sure it was about her, but she wasn't supposed the hear that. If she would vomit this time it would be something Bill never forgets. Although Bill didn't know it, Carol, really wanted a future with Bill.

As the orthodontist was preparing everything for the impressions, Carol noticed she began to sweat. It was her natural response, she hated it, but it was not something she wasn't unfamiliar with. It occasionally happened when she began to panic. The orthodontist said, "Please open wide Carol." The orthodontist put the moulds in her mouth. Her mouth was very full and it was uncomfortable, but it wasn't as bad as she thought. A tear begins to form in the corner of her eyes again, but this time not because of how scared she was. She really felt relief this time. Bill saw this and began to hold her hand, it was something she wasn't really used to from Bill. He never really showed this kind of gesture. The orthodontist assistant said, "I think the impressions are ready, please open wide again." The orthodontist assistant took the moulds out and Carol could fully move her mouth again. Carol moved her tongue around and started the gag, she just barely managed not to vomit. The orthodontist assistant began to giggle and gave her a cup of water. She rinsed her mouth and the awful taste went away. While the impressions were made, she didn't even notice the orthodontist had left the room.

The assistant opened a drawer and walked to Carol with a few elastics. The assistant said, "I must put spacers in so we can start your treatment as soon as possible." The assistant started working in Carol's mouth, she felt a lot better than the moment she stepped into the orthodontist office. When the assistant was done, she felt a dull pain in the back of her teeth. It was noticeable but she was sure she could handle it. Somehow, she even liked the feeling of the spacers.

The preparation of Bills treatment

As soon as Carol was done, Bill sat down in the chair. The start of his treatment began in reality. It was not something he was expecting when he entered the orthodontist office. Everything went a lot faster than he expected. Bill noticed the blue eyes of the assistant, he always loved blue eyes. It was also something he really liked about Carol. He always saw Carol as his friend with benefits, but he felt something more the moment she had to take her moulds. He really couldn't resist holding her hand when he saw tears form in her eyes. He really felt for her, he knew how scared she was. Or how scared he thought she would be.

The assistant requested, "Open wide, I have to but the moulds in." The voice of the assistant really sounded familiar to Bill. He knew it took a while for the impressions to harden. He turned his head to look at Carol and it looked like Carol was playing with her tongue. She was touching the spacers between her molars with her tongue. Eventually the assistant took the moulds out. Bill knew better than Carol and did not move his tongue around. The assistant gave him a cup of water and he rinsed his mouth. The assistant opened the drawer and picked a few spacers and put them in Bill's mouth. Bill didn't like the feeling of the spacers in his mouth.

They were both done with the preparations they had to make. They walked out of the room and walked to the receptionist for the next appointment. Their next appointment was scheduled for the next day. How could all of this happen so fast? On their way out of the office they saw a woman around their age, she smiled at them but didn't show any of her teeth. Bill didn't know why, but he found it a bit odd.

   Chapter 3: the day before

When Bill and Carol walked out of the office, they both went home. They really needed to be alone for the rest of the day. It all happened so fast, and they had to adjust to this situation. Bill was still a bit confused about the things that happened. How was it so easy for him to say yes to such a big decision. Was he really that easy to manipulate? Carol at home

Carol went home and felt good, it felt like she made a victory. She was always afraid of the dentist, but something had changed. She even enjoyed the feeling of the spacers. She didn't know why, but she liked the pressure on her teeth. Did she just like the pain or was she just that happy with the start of her treatment? It was a lot to process in just one day. She feels like she could really use a bath, so she fills her bathtub. She takes her clothes off and folds them perfectly on her chair. She steps into the bathtub and closes her eyes. She can't stop thinking about the moment her spacers were put in. She's starting to get in a satisfied dreamy state. Bill at home

Since Bill left the office, he was still thinking about the assistant. The voice sounded so familiar, he was sure he knew her, but from what? Bill didn't have anything planned for the night and sat down in the living room. He was exhausted and decided to watch a movie, but it was hard to pay attention. He kept thinking about the visit and he was sure he knew the assistant, but he was also thinking about Carol. She sat there in the chair so helpless and scared, but she did all of it.

He could not pay attention to the television, so he just stopped the movie. He looked at the clock and noticed it was already 22:00. He often turned on his computer before he went to bed. There had always been a side of Bill that nobody knew about. He felt a bit ashamed of it, but he always liked certain things. After some time, he turned off his computer and went to bed. It took some time for him to fall asleep because he was starting to get anxious about his appointment.

   Chapter 4: braces installation

The big day has arrived, the day that Bill and Carol both get braces. Bill had a great night's sleep and is ready for the big day. He decides to have a good lunch, so he doesn't have to eat a lot later in the day. When he was still in school, he always heard a lot of stories of how painful braces can be the first few days. He takes a big bite and instantly regrets that decision. He didn't notice it before, but the spacers had put a lot of tension on his teeth. He finishes his meal and it doesn't hurt if he's careful. He looks at the clock and sees he only has 10 minutes before he must drive to the orthodontist. He walks across the hall to Carol. He knocks but it remains completely silent on the other side of the door. He decides to grab his spare key and enters Carol's apartment. He looks in the bedroom, but he doesn't see her. Then he enters the bathroom door and she's Carol sleeping in her bathtub. Yesterday must have been an exhausting day for her. He wakes her up and she looks shocked.

Carol says, "What are you doing here?" She quickly realizes she slept in the bathtub and she must hurry. She puts on her clothes and they leave to go to the orthodontist. Carol doesn't even have time to eat something. In the waiting room, she hears her stomach, but she knows it's too late to grab something to eat. The assistant from yesterday calls their name and they enter a different room than yesterday. They can see a lot of photos of all kinds of orthodontist appliances, some even more horrible than the others. All the photos have names on them. Headgear, Herbst, expander, Forsus spring and a lot more. Underneath the photos, Carol saw a glimpse of an expander and a Herbst. Although her fear went away yesterday, she begins to sweat again. The orthodontist says, "I see you already spotted the appliances." Carol's eyes widen at the spoken words from the orthodontist. Bill decides to take his place on the chair before Carol. He expects it takes a lot more time for Carol to have her braces placed.

The orthodontist tells Bill more about what is going to happen. "Today both of you will get the brackets on your teeth with your first wire. But before we place the brackets, we will put the appliances in place."

"Please open wide." The orthodontist grabs one of the appliances off the shelf,. This was something he wasn't expecting. He can't really see what he grabs and it really frustrates Bill. The orthodontist removes the spacers and puts rings on his back molars. He's busy doing all kinds of things, so Bill decides to just let all of it happen. Eventually the orthodontist grabs a mirror and lets Bill look at what just happened. The orthodontist has just put a Herbst appliance in Bill's mouth. It feels weird because he's unable to fully move his jaws.

It's Carol's turn to take her place in the chair. The orthodontist begins to remove the spacers. This time he isn't placing individual rings on the molars. He grabs the expander and puts it in Carol's mouth. It reminds her of her first day sitting in the waiting room. The first day it made her dizzy, but not this time. Then he grabs a lip spreader and puts it in Carol's mouth. She could imagine how funny she might look now. She looked Bill's way and a string of drool fell on the ground. Bill was too busy to notice it, he was busy opening and closing his mouth. The assistant placed all the brackets on Carol's teeth and when she was done, she winked at Carol and walked out of the room. The orthodontist came back in and put the wires in. He grabbed a mirror and a little piece of metal. He showed her how the expander worked. He put the key in and turned the expander once, and she began to feel a little bit of pressure. The pressure was nothing compared to the pressure of the spacers.

Next Bill took his place in the chair again, he was still opening and closing his mouth. He found it hard to get used to the Herbst appliance. He didn't even notice that Carol already had her braces installed. The assistant put the lip spreader in his mouth, and he was imagining how funny he must look right now. A string of drool fell on the ground. Carol giggled a bit and looked Bill's way; it was the first time he saw Carol's braces. Carol sat there with her legs crossed over each other, not her usual sitting position. Did he like Carol's braces? He certainly didn't like his one contraption, or did he? The assistant put on most of the brackets and walked out of the room. The Herbst appliance made it impossible to put brackets on all his teeth. The orthodontist came back in and put the wires in. It looked like they were done. The orthodontist said, "You both have different kinds of molar bands on your teeth. These bands are typically used for headgear. Not that you two need them, but I don't have any of the regular ones left." They both got instructions on how to keep all the appliances clean and the orthodontist told Carol to turn her expander every day. They were on their way to make another appointment with the receptionist. Carol saw the assistant walk by and once again she winked at Carol. The next appointment is scheduled in 4 weeks. They go home together and Carol's happy that Bill is driving.

Chapter 5: the first night with braces

The moment Bill and Carol step out of the car, they immediately went home again. Although they didn't know it, they were both very excited about what happened. Carol at home with braces

When Carol got home, her teeth didn't hurt at all. She was really surprised by it. So she grabs a few pieces of fruit and fills her stomach. This morning she overslept and left in a hurry. After the installing of the braces, Carol and Bill hadn't spoken a word. They really had to adjust to their new situations. Carol looked at the key that belonged to the expander. It was small, but it was certainly something she had to be careful with. Without the key, it would be impossible to turn the expander. She walked into the bathroom and examined her teeth. There was a lot of metal in her mouth and she could see the different molar bands that the orthodontist was talking about. There was a small tub on the side of the molar bands. Carol imagined how she would look with headgear. What was happening, did she have a braces fetish? First, she's afraid of the dentist and now she's starting to like braces? She could really notice the expander in her mouth, but it wasn't the pressure. Her tongue just kept noticing the piece of metal on the roof of her mouth. She imagined the pressure the expander could eventually give when you turn it. She grabbed the key and turned the expander. The orthodontist told her to do it once a day, but it wouldn't hurt doing it once more she thought. She began to feel a little pressure but not a lot. She tried to turn it back and that worked. The pressure on her teeth subsided. She started to fill her bathtub again. She was about to walk into the bathroom when her telephone rang. She picked it up, it was one of her friends.

Carol said, "Hello, itth Carel." She was surprised by her speech. It was the first time she really talked after her orthodontist appointment and it was harder than she expected. Amy said 'Hi, it's Amy, do you have anything to do tonight?"

"You can't cum uver tunight." Now Amy knew for sure Carol finally made the appointment with the orthodontist. Amy was the friend that suggested Carol get the braces that she really needed. Amy had braces in the past and now had perfect teeth.

Amy replied, "I hear you finally did it, I'm proud of you. I understand you want to get used to them, please call me later this week." The call just as quickly ended as that it had begun.

She folded her clothes on a chair and stepped into the bathtub. Carol sat in the bathtub and decided to turn her expander once again. She turned it and could feel some tension, but not a lot. She decided to turn it again, now she really started to feel some tension. She couldn't resist to turn it again. With her next turn, she heard an audible click she never heard before. Her teeth really began to hurt now, she tried to turn the expander back but noticed it would not turn back anymore. She began to mildly panic. She walked to her coat to look at the manual that the orthodontist gave her. The manual didn't mention anything about relieving tension on the expander. She then saw a card fall on the ground and read the letters. "I know you like your braces, call me: +3112345678."

Bill at home with braces

Immediately after Bill arrived home, he rushed to the bathroom. He looked into the mirror and took a good look at all the appliances in his mouth. Even with his mouth closed you could see he had a lot of metal in his mouth. He opened his mouth and immediately saw two bars connected between his upper and lower jaw. He already noticed it at the orthodontist office, since it made a squeaking sound. Surprised, he looked behind his upper front row. There was a small metal box connecting with the bars in his mouth. He tried to say a few words and noticed a lisp, he really hoped it would become less noticeable. He took a good look at the molar bands the orthodontist was talking about and saw they had tubes on the sides of them.

The tubes immediately reminded him of an Asian girl he had been dating when he was in his teenage years. While they were dating, she always had to wear headgear with normal traditional braces. It was normal to wear headgear in those days. The day she got her braces off, she told him she had to go back to China. That day was the first and last day I saw her without headgear. She never took it off. It was weird, but the day she left she gave me her headgear. It was the only reminder I had of her. It looked a bit different than the typical headgear, I always thought it was a Chinese kind. It was still somewhere in a box in the closet. Should he do it?

Bill walked to the closet and grabbed the old box out of the closet. There it was the old headgear and it looked just like he remembered. How would it feel to have headgear, he wondered? He grabbed it and walked to the bathroom mirror again. He tried to push the headgear in the tubes. It looked ridiculous, but he kept going. He licked the headgear with his tongue. He took it out again and examined the headgear. He looked at the strap that was on one end secured with the metal. He put the headgear back in again. He connected the other side of the strap with the headgear and heard a beep. Pressure begins to form on his jaw, and he heard several more noises coming from the strap. He tried to disconnect the strap from the headgear, but it would not move at all. The headgear was now stuck in his mouth, but it didn't bother him. Was this why he never saw her without her headgear?

Instead of panic, he felt more relaxed than ever. He took off his clothes and filled his bathtub. He never really used his bathtub. But on such a crazy day, he could really use it. As he stepped foot in his bathtub, he felt something move in his mouth. It felt like his teeth were crushed on top of each other, at first it was painful but then it stopped. He tried to move his jaws, but he could not move them at all. What had just happened? He walked to his coat to look at the manual of all his contraptions. There was nothing useful in the manual, so what had just happened. He saw a card fall on the ground and read the letters. "I know you like your braces, call me: +3112345678."

Chapter 6: The card that fell on the ground

Bill in trouble

Bill walked back to his bathroom mildly in a panic now. At the beginning, the headgear didn't really bother him, but now he was not even able to open his mouth at all. He separated his lips to look at what just happened. He did not see anything different about the headgear, but the pistons of the Herbst appliance really seemed to be shortened. No matter how hard he tried, his jaws wouldn't move. He tried to speak but he could not pronounce any words with his jaws clenched shut.

Did his situation have something to do with the card that fell out of his coat? What is happening with all those contraptions in his mouth? Just when he was wondering, he heard a beep coming from his headgear again and the tension on his mouth once again increased. Really frustrated, Bill walked to his coat again. He saw no other choice than calling the telephone number on the card. It instantly went to voicemail.

The Voicemail message said, "Thanks for calling, one of our associates will be with you soon."

Someone knocked on Bill's front door. Bill opened the door and the woman he saw on the first day he left the orthodontist office stood in front of him. This time she smiled while she showed all her teeth. She had a Herbst appliance just like Bill. While she stood there, she did not say any word. Bill felt Goosebumps all over his body before feeling a bit nauseous.

Carol (in trouble)

Why did someone put this card in her pocket and how did someone notice her feelings. At first, she feared getting braces, but indeed she has started to like her braces. Her teeth were still very painful with her expander turned far too many times. But she could really appreciate the feeling. No pain, no gain she thought. She even thought about turning her expander one more time, but she managed to keep herself from turning it once more.

Carol decided to go to bed and she almost forgot to brush her teeth. She grabbed a toothbrush and put some toothpaste on it. She started by brushing her bottom teeth. Brushing her bottom teeth was painless, after all those stories, it really surprised her. "AAHH," Carol yelled. While her bottom teeth didn't hurt at all, her top teeth did hurt a lot. No matter how soft Carol tried to brush, the pain was immense. She was always very consistent about brushing her teeth. By brushing her teeth very well, she managed to only have one cavity in her entire life.

With no other solution, she decided to just stop brushing. She went to bed and slept with a lot of thought. Why did she like her braces? How did they know she liked them? Who put the card in her coat? It didn't take long for her to fall asleep. Last night she slept in the bathtub and I'm sure her bed is comfier.

   Chapter 7: Where is Bill?

Carol wakes up

Carol woke up from a good night's sleep. She yawned once and her mouth felt dry. She almost forgot her braces, but it didn't take long before her tongue hit her expander. She felt the touch through her whole upper row of teeth. She shouldn't have turned her expander as many times as she did. Her stomach began the growl. Did she really forget to eat a good night meal yesterday? Carol walks to the kitchen and opens her fridge.

Usually she eats a big bowl of granola, but she's confident she won't be able to eat that right now. Luckily, she also has some yoghurt in her fridge. She fills a large bowl and empties it completely. Obviously she was very hungry yesterday because she only ate some fruit.

Her thoughts once again went to the card that fell out of her coat. She felt really confused, who could have done this. There was a phone number on it, but if she calls that number, she wants to stay anonymous. She steps into her bathroom again; she really must brush her teeth properly now. Otherwise, she could end up with a lot of cavities. It goes a lot better than yesterday, but it is still a bit painful. While she rinses her mouth, she hears her phone ring again.
Carol says, "Hi, it's Carol."
The orthodontist replies, "Hello, it's your orthodontist, I'm calling to check if everything is going alright?"

Carol responds, "Yes, everything is fine, do you call all of your patients?"

Her orthodontist responds, "Usually not, but a new assistant helped install your braces yesterday, and I like to check if everything went well. If it's not too inconvenient, I'd like to schedule an appointment for today."

Carol hesitated for a moment but decided it won't hurt to let the orthodontist check. He had an open space left in half an hour. Carol stepped into her shower, and every time her tongue hit her expander, she felt her teeth hurting. Ready to go, Carol decided to ask if Bill would come with her. She knocked on his door, but it remained silent on the other side. She had no time left, so she decided to go on her own. When she arrived at the orthodontist, an assistant was already waiting for Carol at the front door. She steps foot into the office and noticed the office shouldn't be open at this time of the day. She did not even have to sit in the waiting area, the assistant directed her directly to the dentist's chair. She sat down and had a good look in the room across the hall. There was Bill, wearing a weird kind of headgear. He was wearing the same clothes as yesterday.

Bill wakes up

Bills felt like he was run over by a truck, his head was hurting. He opened his eyes in confusion, then he looked around and was surprised to see he was in a dentist's room. Did he pass out last night? Why was he not at home anymore? In front of him lay the headgear from last night. Although there was nobody in the room, he began to blush. Obviously, someone had to remove it from his mouth.

The door opened and the girl from last night entered the room. She smiled again while showing all her teeth. Once again, he noticed the Herbst appliance. Bit by bit he remembered what happened last night. How the headgear locked in and how the pistons of his Herbst were locked. He tried to move his jaws, but they simply wouldn't move at all. All this time the girl kept smiling, but she did not say any word. Bill tried to speak, but he couldn't pronounce any word.

The door opened again, and the assistant came in. It was the same assistant that had been working on his teeth yesterday. She looked very different while she wasn't wearing her work clothes. She was wearing a casual blouse, but she also wore latex leggings and black high heels. She smiled with a smile of an angel and Bill began to feel relaxed.

The assistant said, "I guess you were really surprised last night, but you were not the only one. You also surprised me."

Bill could only mumble, "hmhm ,hmhn, hmhn."

The assistant replied, "I would never have guessed you would end up wearing headgear."

Bill tried again. "hmhm ,hmhn, hmhn."

The assistant responded, "How cute, you're still trying to talk to me, luckily we still have to solve your tongue thrusting issue. You will end up just like Angie over there."

For a moment Bill forgot about the other woman in the room. She still stood there with a huge smile; Bill started to find it a little uncomfortable. The assistant grabbed a remote and aimed it at Angie's mouth, and the remote began to speak.

The remote said, "Unlock pistons patient 1."

Angie opened and closed her mouth a few times and still didn't speak a single word. The assistant told Angie to show the inside of her mouth to Bill.

Bill looked into Angie's mouth and saw the same configuration as his. But he also saw an upper expander just like Carol's and on the bottom something that looked just like to upper expander but there was a small ball on top. Her tongue was underneath the appliance.

The assistant said, "I see you found her tongue thrusting appliance, isn't it magnificent? It can also be used to widen the bottom row, but you won't need that."

The word began to pass through, was he really about to get the same applications as Angie? He was sure not. The look in his eyes began the change, but this wasn't unnoticed. The assistant grabbed the remote and aimed it at Bill.

The remote responded, "Securing chair 1." Straps came from the chair and he was held firmly into the chair. He struggled but the straps wouldn't budge. The assistant stroked his hair and the assistant spoke. "We just want to improve your bite."

Angie was walking Bill's way with a tray with all kinds of tools and parts. The assistant once again aimed the remote at Bill.

The remote said, "Unlock pistons, patient 2." He felt the pistons of his Herbst appliance loosened. The assistant asked Bill to open his mouth, but he kept it shut, he didn't even dare to speak.

"We can do it the easy or the hard way," the assistant said.

Still, Bill didn't respond.

The assistant said, "Honestly, this is my favourite way." She once again pointed the remote at Bill.

The remote responded, "Open pistons patient 1."

Bill felt force on the pistons in his mouth, but this time in the opposite direction. His mouth went open inch by inch to the point it began to hurt. Bill began to feel helpless.

The assistant said. "It's is a bit different from regular treatment, but first we have to put a rod in your tongue so we can attach the ball." The assistant grabbed a few tools and asked Bill to stick out his tongue. He saw no reason to deny her requests. Surely, she would have a different method to complete the procedure. He felt a clamp on his tongue and a needle pushed through his tongue. The assistant told him to not move his tongue and he listened.

The assistant said, "We have to remove the bands on your bottom teeth so we can install the appliance, but don't worry, I'll leave the upper rings in." She removes the rings on the bottom and scrapes the excess glue off. She grabbed the tongue thrusting appliance and put it in Bill's mouth. She grabbed a small metal ball from the tray and screwed it into the rod. Bill's tongue crushed into the metal while she kept turning the screw. She ordered Angie to help her shine the blue light into Bill's mouth. While the assistant applied more pressure to the appliance, Angie hardened the glue. Bill felt the crushing of the metal on his tongue and must do his best to hold his gag reflex. He tried to speak but while it was already hard, he now found it impossible. With his mouth still wide open, the assistant held a mirror in front of him. Bill looked shocked, a week ago he never went to the orthodontist and now he looked like an absolute freak.

The assistant says, 'That wasn't so bad was it, Angie will help you with the final adjustments and don't worry, she will put MY headgear back in your mouth. I'm sure we will see each other more often." She gives a kiss on Bill's forehead and walks away.

The surprise is clearly visible in Bill's eyes, how did he not recognise her. The blues eyes and her pretty smile. It was obviously May, his girlfriend from his teenage years, the owner of the odd-looking headgear. He was daydreaming about the good times he had with her when the silence was broken.

The remote says, "Locked pistons patient 2." With that he felt the pistons close again, he was back to reality again. Angie walked to Bill with the headgear and inserted it into his mouth. He heard the familiar beeps and the tension on his jaw increased again. Angie walked out of the room and left the door wide open.

So many great stories as of late.  Very imaginative, this one.  Working on my own story ATM and I know how hard it is to come up with fresh material.  Hard to do something that hasn't been done before or at least put a new spin on it.  Nice job.
