hi, i just got braces fitted to my upper teeth. but i also have an underbite. does that mean that i'll have to wear headgear? ???

Don't get your hopes up...

That should have been discussed in your treatment planning. If you haven't had a planning discussion, Ask for one

Ask the orthodontist
-
Put a picture of your teeth.

As will I. I have to wear reversible headgear for my underbite treatment and it is absolutely wonderful especially when I talk with it on and the metal and plastic clack and squeak. I will take late night walks in my neighborhood and if somebody walks by, obviously the mask is something that you cannot hide :). Also the mask is so comfortable to wear because of the perfectly molded chin piece and forehead piece rest against your face like a hand in a glove. The reason for jealousy is because I have always wanted to try the face bow gear on a count of I have an underbite and my braces don't have the headgear tubes due to my treatment plan.
