Europe: first headgear sighting in a while
« on: 03. May 2023, 16:20:07 PM »
was traveling in the EU last week and in the Netherlands (near the German border, so a bit rural) I had my first live public headgear sighting in a long time. Young teen girl, wearing cervical facebow headgear with a padded neck strap  :) she did not seem at all self conscious about it - was great to see just out and about.

assume, from what I've seen on the internet, that this is more common with dutch treatment than it is in the US (where I haven't seen hg in public for the last 10+ years)..

Potentially heading to the Netherlands in the next month or two. Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Any 'best spots' to look out for headgear as I'm sightseeing?

I have not seen real live headgear in person in 20 years.  Real, honest to gosh treatment headgear.  And even then it was not on an actual person, just in a bathroom.  And she got uber embarrassed by it and freaked out.  She had clear braces and wore class 2 elastics all the time.  And it wasn’t a big deal, she wasn’t embarrassed by it.   But seeing her headgear sent things to defcon 5.  And I may have made too big a deal about it.  We broke up not too long after, a few weeks or so.  Lesson learned.  Actually seeing someone wearing it was over 30 years ago.
