Mag HG's aber auch andere Spangen, am liebsten eben sehr auffällig. Bin an Kontakten interessiert.  Bin Hetero. Ferner mag ich auch noch Orthesen.

Very nice. That would be the ultimate dream come true to be in that glorious position of being placed in an extremely rigid and restrictive Milwaukee brace and then undergoing heavy orthodontic treatment of full bands, Herbst, LipBumper, biteplate and fixed headgear :)

I would give my significant other fiex damon braces, full metal, elastics, a bite plate and headgear. The more metal and complexity, the better.

(Sorry for the thread necro.)

I love the idea of a girlfriend going to an ortho, and coming out with full bands on both jaws, a welded on facebow for each jaw, and even some jaw wiring! Oh, did i mention that was just the first visit?~  >:D

Digging out this old post sorry!..

Loveee the idea mentioned above of being chairside holding her hand at appointments whilst she’s fitted out with more and more intrusive appliances. Such a rush! I’d like the idea of choosing what she wears too, putting her in short skirts for all her appointments for that added feeling of exposure lying there with the cheek retractor in.

She’d start out wearing Invisalign because she’s self conscious about being back in braces in her late twenties. But after ten months with little progress is advised to switch to full metal braces.

She’s fitted with basic brackets and elastics from her upper incisors to lower molars to pull her lower jaw forwards…

The ortho suspects her overbite is going to be stubborn and after a few months persevering with the elastics routine she’s fitted a twinblock appliance. While it’s removable she’s ordered to wear the bulky plastic appliance full time except for brushing. It forces her lower jaw open and forward awkwardly and makes it difficult to close her lips over the brackets. The plastic blocks are also clearly visible whenever she opens her mouth to speak or smile. She’s self conscious about her new look, and the lisp caused by the acrylic obstruction to her tongue which she never really gets over. But wears her appliances diligently doing exactly what she’s been instructed by the orthodontist.

Six months into the twinblock treatment she’s fitted with upper and lower lip bumpers. Her mouth is starting to fill up now and she finds it basically impossible to hide her orthodontia so actually sort of gives in to it. Accepting it as her ‘signature look’. She still feels awkward but just decides to own being that awkward girl in her late twenties with the mouthful of massive braces.

One year after being fitted with the lip bumpers the ortho suggests she could make another appliance for her to wear at night that may speed up correcting her bite. She has reservations but she decides to go for it. She’s already a full braceface now so why not, how bad can it be? Besides it’s only at night so she won’t have to see anyone apart from me!

Introducing the open mouth activator with fixed facebow.

Impressions are made and she turns up to her next appointment to be presented with her new device after having it described to her previously as “like a mouth guard to hold your jaws in place in the night”

It’s like the twinblock she’s already wearing, in the same translucent reddish pink acrylic polished to a high shine. Only the blocks between her jaws are bigger and fused together to hold her jaws wide open in the ‘ideal position’ to correct her bite. She’s unable to fully close her mouth whilst wearing it so to stop her tongue from jutting out through the gap between her upper and lower jaws there is a large metal tongue crib. The facebow is fixed permanently to the adams clasps on her upper molars which attaches to a combination headgear in tan leather with small silver buckles to adjust it around her head and neck. It looks like some sort of medical BDSM device! The facebow along with the upper lip bumper she’s already wearing now permanently prop up her top lip showing off her brackets.

She cries quietly as the orthodontist sits her on a stool infront if a full length mirror whilst she buckles the headgear up for the first time and explains her weartime schedule of at least twelve hours per day.

She had imagined a small night guard that she’d pop in when she got into bed not this huge contraption!

The same as when the twinblock was first installed she’s a good girl and she wears the activator religiously, even wearing it through the day on the days she works from home and fastening it in as soon as she gets in from the office on the other days wearing it through till morning only taking it out to eat and brush. It takes a bit of encouragement but she’ll even put it in when we have friends round sometimes. She can’t speak clearly with it in but despite her anxiety over the terrible lisp and the way she looks, she manages.

The twelve hour routine is a lot to put up with but the activator gets the job done. After twelve months of strapping it on every day, the orthodontist finally tells her she’s done with fixing her bite and no longer needs the activator, or the bulky twinblocks either.

Now it’s just the braces and the lip bumpers. She finds it weird being able to close her teeth together without the plastic surfaces clacking together keeping her jaws apart and actually takes a while adjusting her speech and the way she smiles.

She wears a collection of different elastics power chains and springs whilst the orthodontist adds the final touches to her smile but after just over three years, the braces are removed.

To make sure her old habits don’t come back her retainer is a twinblock appliance with a tongue crib. And the icing on the cake, her old buckle up leather headgear. The facebow is removable this time and she’s instructed to wear the plastic appliances full time for six months with the headgear only at night. Then after that it’s the plastic appliances and headgear every night plus any other time she’s comfortable with from there on. She’s upset about the crib, the blocks and the headgear because it means wearing bulky, embarrassing, lisp inducing appliances every night for the rest of her life, but I’m not complaining as I buckle her into her facebow!

Unless this specific person has an overbite/deepbite, I will "help" to achieve this then, with the braces and appliances. So first of all, this person will get molar and premolar bands, will get RPE in the upper and lower jar, a biteplate in the upper jaw, a Herbst Appliance, a tounge crib (for ultimate lisp), and a (highpull) headgear. For more metal, we could fit a TPA in, some temporary anchorage devices(TADS), and a nice and big lip bumper.

Then I would always change sth. like the pressure the braces do, and when to wear it in the whole treatment time. Treatment time: about 8 years

Guys, for real, this is MAXED out, isn't it?

I have taken also some ideas from other people, like the molar...-bands.

Greetings, Crow

I think that many people would have a different opinion of what they would have done if one of the conditions of treatment was that you would be treated with the same devices at the same time.

To be honest, I would also take the same things i just said above! Maybe I would reduce the treatment time, though.
