Do clear braces bug anyone else?

This trend towards clear braces is driving me nuts... I love the look of all that gleaming silver.... but clear just makes it look like you have weird, deformed, dirty teeth.   :(   Who do clear braces wearers think they're fooling, really?

Exactly my thoughts! They´re just fooling themselves IMO. Do they really think nobody will notice it? Funny thing is, most are wearing silver brackets in the lower jaw (due to the fact that most orthodontist don´t put clear brackets on the bottom teeth because it is too risky) which can mostly be noticed anyway.
I once saw a really, really hot woman (about 23) which had braces. She had clear braces in the upper jaw and silver brackets in the lower jaw. But she had such a huge smile that you could see all, and I mean all, the brackets! So I ask myself why did she have clear braces at all? What a waste of money ;)

I don't mind the clear brackets so much, I hate that they are putting braces on now with no bands... That sorta sucks.

Clear brackets look very sexy, even if the person is trying to 'hide' their braces. They still have an archwire that is tight and they can't take their brackets off even if it is clear. Think of clear as a different 'color', like shoes. :lol:

I agree... I think that from a distance, ceremic braces make the person look like they have dirty yellow teeth... I'd much rather see them with shiny silver glinting in the sun  8)

Jess here in FallfromBrace's album has Ceramics up top and metal below, she's HOT isn't she? I think the ceramic brackets actually suit her.   :lol:

I agree that they do suit her, but as usual, I believe she would look 100% prettier if she had metal ones...

I think clear braces are ok, obviously not as good as metal, but I agree with bracketguy I don't like this trend of fitting braces without molar bands.

i agree that metal brackets look better than the ceramic ones, but at least the are better than a retainer or than no braces, or am i wrong *g* ?

Clear braces are the WORST! They look SO ridiculous! Have a metal mouth and be proud of it for God's sake!

What a waste, they drive me crazy! Not REMOTELY sexy on ANYONE, just stupid looking.

Okay, one last time: Clear braces are RUINING what could be great metal mouths. They are EVIL, pure EVIL!!!

I also don't understand guys who like retainers: BORING. Give me the shiny steel, and lots of it!

:twisted: i agree i see these clear braces all the time here and i cant stand it they just look dumb and i dont understand why you would get metal bottoms and clear tops , thats just silly and they look real dumb with elastics too
