It's a good read.
Sometimes I wonder who is crazier braces fetishists or the people who get braces. So she is having her skull sawn apart and having braces put on, that she admits as hideous, for years on end - all because her gums show a little bit when she smiles????
I wonder what she would think if she knew her article was linked to this site?
-
They’re going to cut my gums up and wire my mouth closed for six months and leave me in braces for another year
Six months sounds pretty extreme - any thoughts on what she would be having done?
-
Jaw surgery always requires the jaws to be immobilised, I agree that 6 months of wired shut (presumably with splint) is a bit extreme. From the tone of the article she's probably exaggerating
-
I've had two jaw surgeries (both upper and lower) - first time (in 1999) I was wired shut for 3 weeks. Second time (in 2002) I only wore heavy elastics - the era of wiring jaws shut after surgery is all but gone.
-
More to the point: At least a few of the guys swiping her to the right on Tinder do so because she has braces - in other words, we (who read and write in this forum) are not alone. Which is good. But which is also bad - lots of competition on Tinder, it would seem! >:D
