Braces fetish
« on: 10. December 2015, 19:03:45 PM »
I was wondering, if you would describe your interest of braces, would it be a normal interest or a fetish?  If you would describe it as a fetish what do you like most? Like hg, metal or elastics?

Most definitely a fetish, there's something very sexy to me about orthodontia.

Metal braces with springs/expanders/elastics >metal braces >clear braces >retainers and other acrylic/wire removables >headgear/facemask >invisalign/essix retainers

The more metal the better, my partner has ceramic braces with metal gates (self ligating) and some metal brackets.

I see my braces fetish the same way as I see many of my other fetishes...  it is not so much the "thing" as the mindset behind it.  This is difficult to explain, but it makes sense in my head.  To me, all forms of fetish has an element of "dominance and submission" to it.  The fetish does not lie as much in the "thing" (in this case, braces), but in the fact that one "has to".

The fact that you cannot take them off is to me a more interesting mindset than the fact that one is wearing them.  Or in the case of removable braces, like retainers and headgear, the fact that one *can* take them off, but that one either needs a stern level of self-discipline not to, or the fact that one is not allowed to.

some games I played in my life got very interesting, not in the fact that I was wearing headgear, but the fact that I was not allowed to take it off unless I completed certain tasks.  The mindset needed to put the thing in, and keep it in despite the fact that it has now been very long and feels like total crap, is the attraction here.

@DemBone: Very interesting summary! Yes it is exactly what you explain also with me. One important feeling i have about braces is the shame which they give me as a reaction!

What kind of Tasks did you have to fulfull to be allowed to take the braces our? And who gave you the order? What kind of Braces did you have to wear then?

For me they are most definitely a fetish thing its the shiny wires and headgear or facemask such cold clinical gear when put on a sexy girl is a big part of it. Also my first girlfriend wore headgear so I naturally associate it with the nice feelings of loving a girl. Hope this makes some kind of sense

Yeah, for me the first girl I 'fancied' had some kind of removable appliances with metal wires here and there. I'm sure my obsession stems from the mystery of her lisping and slurping in primary school :)
Oddly enough, I've no interest in BDSM or bandage. Though milwaukee braces do it for me ;)

I like Milwaukee braces too and leg calipers the whole lot really! I also remember when I was around 9 or 10 staying with an aunt of mine her best friends daughter had big shiny braces and I think also a Herbst appliance this had a powerful effect on me for sure. All this took place around 1978 or 9 did Herbst appliance exist then?

There's definitely a 'sexy' side to orthodontics (at least for me) but the reason probably is because they form a purpose and are restricting.

Totally agree with DemBones...entirely about the "have to", submissive mindset.  Also no choice but to endure the discomfort and embarrassment.

For me it´s definitely a fetisch for braces and everything that goes with it. So I could exactly agree with the mindset of DemBones about the "have to" of braces.
By the way, the fact of wearing a restrictive Milwaukee brace is such like the "have to" of braces and also a fetisch for me.

For me it was a fetish before I had the slightest idea what sexual arousal or even sex was. The neighbor girl who use to babysit for me got braces when I was six. (I believe she was about 12) She was mortified. So embarrassed she wouldn't show them to anyone or even come out of her room the first day she had them. The next day when I went over to her house after school, she grinned widely and showed them to me. I just remember going "Whoaaa..." and it was totally involuntary. I told her they were cool looking and she said I made her feel better about them. This was the first girl I ever had a crush on before I knew what "having a crush on someone" was or even what it meant but the braces definitely had something (if not everything) to do with it.
The really bad thing about all this is that when my wife found out about my feelings towards braces, she freaked out. To her, this is a sick and perverted fetish simply because typically, braces are worn by children and teenagers. I tried to explain to her the fact that the majority of people in orthodontic treatment are kids has NOTHING to do with my particular feelings for them but she refused to listen. I feel like this is mostly because (and keep in mind, I am not a psychologist) she was a victim of sexual abuse for many of her childhood years. I just don't know how I can make her understand my feelings about braces without upsetting her further.  ???

Joe - people are different.  Its as simple as that - and a reaction to a fetish is just as natural, valid, and inexplicable as the fetish itself.  I've made peace with the fact that I have a wide and interesting array of fetishes many years ago.  I've been met with all kinds of responses, from "oh wow, that's so cool!" to "me too" to indifference, to "you're a sick puppy" and "you should be locked up!"

Different strokes for different folks, that's all.  My wife thinks I'm a total freak, so I had a frank discussion with her, and she allows me to go to kinky parties and have my freaky fun, but two rules apply: my pants stay on and she does not wanna know the details.  apart from that,w e love each other, want to share our lives with each other....  she just does not share my kinky side, and I'm okay with that.

Your wife sounds a lot more open than mine, Dem. My wife also has the most insecurities and the lowest self esteem of almost anyone I've ever met so there's a lot of issues there. I kind of feel like she's projecting her own damaged sexual identity onto me and trying to make me feel bad for having a healthier attitude towards sex. Oh well.  :-\

For me it's definitely about the submissive mindset. Looks play a secondary role though they are also important. This is why various fixed appliances work better for me despite not being visible than ordinary metal braces.

It could be interesting to find out if any of us have other fetishes too. Perhaps there is a link between them. Back before I discovered my braces fetish I was quite interested in bondage and high heels, maybe for the very same reason. Now those two have kind of faded away and I hardly indulge in them. Still have a foot fetish but that's said to be quite common.
