Braces fetish
« on: 10. December 2015, 19:03:45 PM »
I was wondering, if you would describe your interest of braces, would it be a normal interest or a fetish?  If you would describe it as a fetish what do you like most? Like hg, metal or elastics?

Most definitely a fetish, there's something very sexy to me about orthodontia.

Metal braces with springs/expanders/elastics >metal braces >clear braces >retainers and other acrylic/wire removables >headgear/facemask >invisalign/essix retainers

The more metal the better, my partner has ceramic braces with metal gates (self ligating) and some metal brackets.

I see my braces fetish the same way as I see many of my other fetishes...  it is not so much the "thing" as the mindset behind it.  This is difficult to explain, but it makes sense in my head.  To me, all forms of fetish has an element of "dominance and submission" to it.  The fetish does not lie as much in the "thing" (in this case, braces), but in the fact that one "has to".

The fact that you cannot take them off is to me a more interesting mindset than the fact that one is wearing them.  Or in the case of removable braces, like retainers and headgear, the fact that one *can* take them off, but that one either needs a stern level of self-discipline not to, or the fact that one is not allowed to.

some games I played in my life got very interesting, not in the fact that I was wearing headgear, but the fact that I was not allowed to take it off unless I completed certain tasks.  The mindset needed to put the thing in, and keep it in despite the fact that it has now been very long and feels like total crap, is the attraction here.

@DemBone: Very interesting summary! Yes it is exactly what you explain also with me. One important feeling i have about braces is the shame which they give me as a reaction!

What kind of Tasks did you have to fulfull to be allowed to take the braces our? And who gave you the order? What kind of Braces did you have to wear then?

For me they are most definitely a fetish thing its the shiny wires and headgear or facemask such cold clinical gear when put on a sexy girl is a big part of it. Also my first girlfriend wore headgear so I naturally associate it with the nice feelings of loving a girl. Hope this makes some kind of sense

Yeah, for me the first girl I 'fancied' had some kind of removable appliances with metal wires here and there. I'm sure my obsession stems from the mystery of her lisping and slurping in primary school :)
Oddly enough, I've no interest in BDSM or bandage. Though milwaukee braces do it for me ;)

I like Milwaukee braces too and leg calipers the whole lot really! I also remember when I was around 9 or 10 staying with an aunt of mine her best friends daughter had big shiny braces and I think also a Herbst appliance this had a powerful effect on me for sure. All this took place around 1978 or 9 did Herbst appliance exist then?

There's definitely a 'sexy' side to orthodontics (at least for me) but the reason probably is because they form a purpose and are restricting.

Totally agree with DemBones...entirely about the "have to", submissive mindset.  Also no choice but to endure the discomfort and embarrassment.

For me it´s definitely a fetisch for braces and everything that goes with it. So I could exactly agree with the mindset of DemBones about the "have to" of braces.
By the way, the fact of wearing a restrictive Milwaukee brace is such like the "have to" of braces and also a fetisch for me.

For me it was a fetish before I had the slightest idea what sexual arousal or even sex was. The neighbor girl who use to babysit for me got braces when I was six. (I believe she was about 12) She was mortified. So embarrassed she wouldn't show them to anyone or even come out of her room the first day she had them. The next day when I went over to her house after school, she grinned widely and showed them to me. I just remember going "Whoaaa..." and it was totally involuntary. I told her they were cool looking and she said I made her feel better about them. This was the first girl I ever had a crush on before I knew what "having a crush on someone" was or even what it meant but the braces definitely had something (if not everything) to do with it.
The really bad thing about all this is that when my wife found out about my feelings towards braces, she freaked out. To her, this is a sick and perverted fetish simply because typically, braces are worn by children and teenagers. I tried to explain to her the fact that the majority of people in orthodontic treatment are kids has NOTHING to do with my particular feelings for them but she refused to listen. I feel like this is mostly because (and keep in mind, I am not a psychologist) she was a victim of sexual abuse for many of her childhood years. I just don't know how I can make her understand my feelings about braces without upsetting her further.  ???

Joe - people are different.  Its as simple as that - and a reaction to a fetish is just as natural, valid, and inexplicable as the fetish itself.  I've made peace with the fact that I have a wide and interesting array of fetishes many years ago.  I've been met with all kinds of responses, from "oh wow, that's so cool!" to "me too" to indifference, to "you're a sick puppy" and "you should be locked up!"

Different strokes for different folks, that's all.  My wife thinks I'm a total freak, so I had a frank discussion with her, and she allows me to go to kinky parties and have my freaky fun, but two rules apply: my pants stay on and she does not wanna know the details.  apart from that,w e love each other, want to share our lives with each other....  she just does not share my kinky side, and I'm okay with that.

Your wife sounds a lot more open than mine, Dem. My wife also has the most insecurities and the lowest self esteem of almost anyone I've ever met so there's a lot of issues there. I kind of feel like she's projecting her own damaged sexual identity onto me and trying to make me feel bad for having a healthier attitude towards sex. Oh well.  :-\

For me it's definitely about the submissive mindset. Looks play a secondary role though they are also important. This is why various fixed appliances work better for me despite not being visible than ordinary metal braces.

It could be interesting to find out if any of us have other fetishes too. Perhaps there is a link between them. Back before I discovered my braces fetish I was quite interested in bondage and high heels, maybe for the very same reason. Now those two have kind of faded away and I hardly indulge in them. Still have a foot fetish but that's said to be quite common.

Braces is definitely my number one fetish. I've always been attracted to girls with glasses and sometimes the right glasses on the right girl give me a fraction of the feeling that braces can. Prescription is important too, I'm not sure why but nonprescription lenses just don't do it.
Hearing aids can be very interesting on girls, back braces more so though I doubt I'll ever encounter one in real life and it seems too odd to suggest to my partner.

For me, also, the interests started well before I had any idea about any sexual links.
I think, for me, it is mainly a case of altered sensations....ie "what would it feel like"....

One of my earlier memories is of visiting friends of the family who we did not see often when i might have been about 8 or 9. The son was perhaps a year older than me. I was instantly captivated by the fact that he was wearing two long metal braces (calipers as his mother called them) on his legs. I don't know why but I remember trying to think of any way that I could get to try them on, but it didn't happen of course. All I can remember is that he couldn't sit cross legged on the floor like me and then we went out in the garden and he couldn't run. So thats one interest which has lasted.
This was reinforced shortly afterwards when I spotted a girl waiting for a bus near our school wearing one extra long leg brace which held her so her foot was off the ground, and a thick shoe on the other foot to lift that leg to the same height. I couldn't take my eyes off her and somehow the best bit was seeing her walking without too much apparent difficulty.

Next I can remember seeing a few people with hearing aids. At that time they were always earpieces with seperate body-worn receivers in shirt pocket etc. I saw someone about the same age as me at the beach with two aids and a harnes to hold them. I wanted to know what it would be like to hear through something like that and couldnt get that thought out of my mind. I had a pocket radio with an earpiece. I bought another earpiece and wore them, pretending. Second interest, still there and stronger.

Next a boy in my class at school (I was now about 10) appeared with what he called a brace, on his teeth. Just a wire around them, as far as I could see. But it got a lot more interesting when he took it out and I could see that it was a large plastic plate etc...a hawley retainer, I suppose.
I couldnt get the idea out of my mind that this must be so good to wear and to feel plastic rather than the roof of your mouth. The third interest now grabbed me....

Each of these things is something that causes a change in sensation. Each of them is restricting in some way, I suppose.

I like to see them on others but, for me it is a case of wanting to experience the altered sensation myself.
The Internet helps us to make some of these things a reality..........

I wonder if this particular type of thinking is familiar to others here?

The "restriction" part of any fetish is always cool for me.  If its "restrictive", I have a liking for it, regardless what that restriction is.  My braces fetish definitely comes from having it myself.  I *know* what it's like to be braced, and that tight feeling in your mouth that on a bad day can feel like potential suicide, but on a good day can be a very interesting and fun feeling.  I know what it's like to sit in a headgear for hour upon hour, day after day, week after week, and the discipline it takes to keep that thing in your mouth.  I love the idea of the "discipline" of it.

Like Retained, above, I also have a thing for other medical things, but I think it all boils down to "restriction".  A cast/brace/caliper/whatever is just another bondage device.  And because it is medical, its kinda "legitimate".  I cannot take my pal out to dinner to a fancy restaurant in handcuffs, but I can take her in a cast.  Never done that though, but the idea stands.  (Instead, I just have my pals over for dinner at my place, where they can have a meal with handcuffs on!)

Restriction, yes, but also some degree of giving up control. You can't just decide you're done with braces, once they're on you're in for the long run. Same thing with a cast (recreational or medical).

The more the metal the better for me. My partner and I both had braces. She got hers off now.  I still have mine on and love it. But when I had to wear my headgear the ortho told me 20 hours a day but the last I wore it 24/7 and my partner loved it. I am so lucky.

Definitely a fetish, but not a bad one in the least. Yes, I find braces on a girl nice. There's something about their soft lips against the silver metal. My wife has braces, and I love every minute of it. Not just that though. She wears them really well. I mean, just yesterday she came back with full elasitics, and dak purple powerchains. I did my best not to show it, but she was hotter than all hell to me.

It's a fetish, definitely.

There are other things in my life that I am VERY intensely interested in, but it is not the same thing at all.

The orthodontic stuff overlaps with other braces: back braces, leg braces, neck braces... the works. I agree with everyone else who as said that there is a dom/sub element to this, and for me, this is the ONLY fetish I have and the ONLY interest I have that is even remotely BDSM related. That kind of thing (restraints, etc) usually freaks me out. Unless its a brace. Then I'm hooked.

Fetish for me, too, and really the only one I have. I've been very honest with my wife about it. Fortunately, she's delightfully kinky and is very happy to play along, and is even going to get real braces (that she barely needs) in order to fulfill my desires. She once told me that one of her fantasies was being able to fulfill a fetish for a man, and I came along at the right time with a fetish she could reasonably fulfill. While I still sometimes get a little embarrassed or uncomfortable with it, she treats it like it's charming and just no big deal.

I' have braces and i like seeing braces on other people...
I like how they appear and the costriction side....
I like that I can go everywhere with my "orthodontic bondage"
And I copletely agree with DemBones...
Once you got them, you can't go out from the play: you have to fulfil the desire of your dom/orthodontist!

new here to site and joined based on my interest in having braces for myself.  I had never considered braces and went into one place several months ago for a consult based on recommendation from my new dentist.  I was scared to death as a 43 year old walking in, but staff was nice, the doctor she was great, and my interest started that very day - getting the x rays done, impressions taken, and having the doctor tell me I could use treatment, but need a tooth removed first.  Now, I want to see very video and picture of braces being done.  I don't think I'll have any on me, but love when people have lots of appliances in their mouth or headgear on.   After I get a needed crown fixed and the tooth removed, I'll be back in the orthodontist chair in a few months time.   I  will likely have braces on for 22 - 24 months.  cannot wait!

Definitely a fetish for me too. There is some sort of stimulating feeling that headgear and bulky appliances give me especially when my head and face are engulfed in metal and straps that cannot be hidden and impede on your natural look and speech. Headgear and facemasks are an extraordinary sight to see especially to live behind :)

Most DEFINITELY a fetish, though it's quite limited to orthodontic hardware. Braces, tongue cribs, rubber bands, expanders, powerchains, and ESPECIALLY Headgear. If it's orthodontic, I'm  probably going to like it. For me, the fascination definitely started in middle school, though like most, my interest in the orthodontic likely resulted from some kind of childhood "experience" I'm not all aware of. I'll be completely honest: If I knew the experience, I would say. Who knows, maybe I'll figure it out someday.

Stay safe, and Much Love <3

For me its definitely fetish.

Its very different for me due to my asexuality as theres no real link to anything inherently sexual about the concept of orthodontia and the fetishism. Its just the concept of it that 'works' for some reason.
