Seriously though, you should post your stuff on the Discord. The NSFW channel there hasn't had any actual NSFW content in it for 4 months now.

I only speak for myself, but the cultural gap was too wide for me to enjoyably navigate there.

I can’t blame him at all for leaving.  Kudos to him for gracefully exiting stage right without absolutely ripping someone a new one even though a couple had earned it.

Companies like Reddit are trying to keep themselves from becoming porn sites. It makes sense for them to use a heavy hand when they clean up their sites.

As for Discord, they aren't set up for long-term picture storage. They are fine for discussions and chatting, but the pictures get moved up and are hard to find after a while.

So far, DeviantArt hasn't been too brutal with wielding the axe, but that may change.

As for the stories, I am always looking for more to add to TheArchive. Since TheArchive isn't actually a website, I have much better control of what is in it. I have always said it is a place to store the stories before they disappear again. Anyone can send me stories when they write them or if they find any I don't have yet.

I have to admit I also haven't fully adapted to the Discord either. I'd never really used Discord at all before and was eager to give it a try after learning we had a parallel community there, but the dearth of content especially is a bit off-putting. Haven't had the misfortune of meeting any weirdos there, but I suppose it is a different crowd that attracts those kinds of people more than the forum does.

Out of curiosity, what was the last straw that made you guys leave?

I think the issue on Reddit is more the lack of moderation, though, which I can understand. No one wants a group with a bunch of spam bots. Groups like r/bracesp*rn and r/amature_braces are still up.

I don't know the solution. I just know I have an external hard drive with a bajillion pics, videos and stories that I should probably share before I eventually croak. ;D

Thank you for the kind words, mr_90proof. "Cultural gap" is a great way to put it. I don't think I really had some epic "final straw" moment on Discord. I just eventually came to feel that someone with my overall beliefs and lifestyle (outside my braces interest) wasn't welcome there, so I cancelled myself. ::)

I realize I probably have many of the stories on your hard drive, but I would appreciate receiving a copy of the stories you have. Just send them in whatever way is convenient for you.

I haven’t answered you Velteau because I have been trying to figure out how to answer.  But basically it was just a realization that many of the people there have a VERY different world view than I do.  And ironically, those that claim to be tolerant are often not tolerant of anyone that does not believe exactly as they do.  Christmas is what drove me to leave. Christmas seems to trigger some people.  If you ever wonder what an atheist or vegan is thinking, just listen to what they are screaming into someone’s face.  When it is your face they are screaming into it is better just to turn around and leave.

The big problem with the braces channel on discord is that the original owner seems to have little interest in it, so as long as the media bits keep working, and the kiddies vaguely behave,  then as moderator I tend to leave things alone. There hasn't been any nastiness on the normies chat, just a load of kids who seem to think that either they have major issues, or that they know better than their orthos... once we get into winter, I expect it will get a little busier.

Yeah, i run the minor-free server, while Anton runs the orthodontics world-wide, but we both do it independently, and i wouldn't say we're competitors either.

Right! I thought you were a member here, as well. I hope things are going well in the server and for you in general, man!

Also, it happened again. I started writing what I thought would be a braces story, set in the Bracing for the Apocalypse universe. But it was too cool and turned into a chapter of Book Two. ;D
