Activators
« on: 21. January 2015, 03:19:17 AM »
Just wondering if anyone here has an activator?
They seem to vary quite a bit in design but mostly they are like top and bottom Hawleys joined together in one block, with just a breathing slot at the front.
As soon as I saw one, I had to get one to see what it felt like, not to be able to move my jaw at all.
Mine has top and bottom wires just like Hawleys but some seem to have plastic covering top or bottom teeth or both.

I´ve had an activator in my orthodontic treatment phase and it feels very unconfortable for me at this time. I´ve not often wear it, because I hate the feeling of a mouthful of plastik and the fact of the big speaking habit I have with it. But that was before my interest of braces.

Now I wear a big activator, that gave me that big speaking habit, that I now like very much. The headgear for the activator makes it complete for me

The activator would also be my favorite one. When you have a mouth full of plastic, at least you know what you are wearing...

No I don't have to wear it for an official treatment. I asked a Orthodontic Lab to make it for me.
