Dass die Kunststoffbrackets schlechter sind als die Metallbrackets, wird üblicherweise nicht hinausposaunt. Man schätzt sie ja, weil manche Patieneten sonst gar keine Behandlung machen würden.

Hier ist jemand so ehrlich und sagt gleich, dass die Kunststoffbrackets nur fast so gut sind wie die Metallbrackets:

Ceramic braces are almost as good as metal braces. They tend to break, especially during the finishing stage. Occasionally, one has to even switch to metal braces to finish properly.
