To start with, Dana al-Nassrallah (16 yr. old 100m sprinter from Kuwait) wears braces. There was a nice face shot during the opening ceremony.

Sadly, last year's World Championship athletes with braces (Torri Edwards, Marion Jones, Jana Pittman...) don't wear them anymore...

But maybe some new faces (THG users?)...

Also a girl in the Brazilian team was shown with upper metal braces, no clue who she was.

Check also out Italian Magdelin Martinez (full metal), even though she might have them removed very recently.

I guess she's Daiane dos Santos, who won gymnastics floor world title last year.

The russian tennis players Anastasia Myskina (ceramic) and Svetlana Kuznetsova (metal) wear braes. They both play their first round matches Mon. Aug. 16.

I read that Katie Hoff (15-yr. old US swimmer, 200m Individual Medley) wears braces. She's in the finals tonight.

Auch beim Synchronschwimmen (Beginn Montag 23.08) gibt es einige Teilnehmerinnen mit Zahnspangen zu sehen, z. B. Mannschaft aus Kasachstan. Schönes Bild der Schwimmerinnen im Magazin der Süddeutschen Zeitung vom 20.08.
